Brad took the day off for his birthday. We all had a lot of fun having him home all day. The girls had school in the morning so Brad and I took this opportunity to go out to breakfast. Of course we had Matt with us, but wow it was crazy how easy it was with just one kid. Believe it or not Brad wanted to shop on his birthday. He was trying to find some new pants and went away with everything but pants. Melanie was so excited that Dad got to watch her at dance. He requested that I make my Grandma Burton's famous caramel cake and I totally botched it. and i mean it was gross. Maybe he has learned not to ask me to make a cake, but i don't think he did because as we were eating the cake he looked at me and said all you need is more practice. I think I might go back to a no baking of cakes for the rest of the year. minus the gross cake it was a very fun birthday!!!
We finished up the trick candles he bought for my last birthday and the kids had a blast trying to get all of them to stop re-lighting.

At least he was nice about the cake! Isn't amazing how much easier it is with one kid! I love when Dylan is at preschool and Abby is at Kindergarten. I get 2 hours to run errands with just Rylee! Heaven!!!

I surely can relate to botching cakes!! :) ha ha...Russ, too, has confirmed that cakes just aren't my thing. :) Glad it was a fun birthday regardless!
