Wow, what a historical day today was. I know I don't agree with all the things President Obama says, but this is truly a historical day. I am excited for some change and hope that our new President can accomlish what we need. I tried to get Melanie to come and watch it with me, but wasn't too successful. A few days ago her and Kaitlyn were asking me if we had a King and I told them that we didn't and that we lived in a free country and didn't need one. They responded saying oh man I wish we did then there would be princesses. I then explained to them that we don't have a king, but we have a president who governs for our country. So today I tried to remind Mel of this conversation and said this is our new president. She was very uninterested and went into the kitchen to play her webkinz. oh well I tried. On the other hand Kaitlyn came home really excited telling me that she watched the guy put his hand on a book and raise his had. I was thrilled to find out that she watched it at school today.

I also thought it was an amazing day and loved watching all of the coverage. I put both of my girls in front of the TV and made them watch it for a minute, so that I could at least tell them when they get older that they watched it. :) After Leah watched for a minute, I asked her if she knew what the new president's name was and she said, "The Rock Obama." I thought that was so cute.
I'm scared for our country!
