Disneyland 2009 ~ Day 2

This was probably the most anticipated day for the girls. They were so excited to go to their princess lunch. They were also super excited to be with their cousins all day long at Disney. We started out the day at California Adventure. The girls got brand new crowns to wear to their lunch. I am the worst mom ever and forgot their dresses they wanted to wear. I made up for it later by buying both of them mickey ears.

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn and Melanie

As we were walking through the gates Kaitlyn's crown drops off her head and cracks in half. Being the cheap person I am, I immediately tell her that I could fix it. We walk over to guest services. I wait in line and then ask the worker if they had any tape or glue I could use to fix my daughters crown. He was more than happy to help me out. The other worker then enters the room. She asks me what I am doing, so I tell her. She asks me why I don't just go and buy her the same crown. I told her that we brought them with us from home and I didn't want to have to buy two new crowns with only one broken. By now Kaitlyn's crown has a huge gob of tape around the center front and it is very unstable. I just continue to add more tape in hopes that it will work. The nice worker then comes over to me and tells me to hold on a sec. So we wait for a few minutes and she comes out of the back with a very nice and fun Sleeping Beauty crown and gives it to Kaitlyn. The smile on Kaitlyn's face was priceless. We thanked her very much and walked out. As soon as we left the first thing we thought would happen was a huge tantrum from Melanie who is still wearing the $1 clearance crown. How wrong we were. We thought the only right thing to do was to go and find a crown very similar to Kaitlyn's and buy one for Melanie. So we offered to Melanie to go and find one. She simply told us that she loved the crown she had. Oh how I love how workable that girl can be sometimes. I couldn't believe how nice that worker was, but then again who isn't nice at Disneyland?

After the whole crown fiasco we headed to the back lot to have an exclusive meeting with some surprise characters. When we walked around the wall it was Chip and Dale. The kids had a lot of fun interacting with them

On our way out we ran into Mrs. Incredible and Handy Manny

Matt kept looking at Handy's hat and touching it

THE PRINCESS LUNCH AT ARIEL'S GROTTO

Waiting on the spiral staircase to meet Ariel and be seated.
Kaitlyn, Melanie, Julia

Meeting Ariel. Kaitlyn was in heaven and pretty star struck. I think she just couldn't believe she was meeting Ariel in person. They led us to our seats.

The food was very gourmet. Not really made for kids. On the other had Jenelle and I loved it. It started out with a three plate appetizer with salad, a veggie plate and a fruit plate. Very delicious bread with unbelievable sauces. Next came the main course. Kaitlyn ordered the cheese and shells, Melanie the chicken and rice. When Melanie saw the grilled chicken and wild rice she gave me the most disgusted look. So I very kindly asked the server if she could switch hers to the cheese and shells. So Melanie is now happy. Kaitlyn looks at me with an even more disgusted face and tells me she doesn't like the cheese shells. She then tells me that she wants the chicken. I didn't even dare ask the server to bring me another chicken out for my other daughter who hates the shells. So I cut up my really yummy cheese and herb crusted chicken and let Kaitlyn eat that while I ate plain old cheese shells. I didn't care so much because I loved all the courses before I was pretty full anyway.

The first princess to greet us was Snow White, she asked the girls what land they come from and they told her Utah.

Then came Cinderella. Melanie was so star struck. She asked the girls how they traveled to visit her, by carriage or flying coaches? The girls told her they flew on an airplane.

Next was Aurora (Sleeping Beauty). She smiled at Kaitlyn so big and loved her crown. She said we have three princesses here. Kaitlyn -Aurora with her Sleeping Beauty crown, Melanie - Cinderella with her blue crown and Julia - Belle with her yellow crown.

Last came Belle. The girls absolutely loved her dress!

As we sat and finished up our lunch after meeting with all the princesses Kaitlyn looks at me and says, "Mom, this is a dream come true." With the biggest smile on her face. Right then and there I decided that princess dinner was worth every cent I spent on it. We ended the lunch with an out of this world desert tray, with a chocolate Ariel. Which the girls split three ways of course.

Now we were off to Bugs Land and the Bear Rapids. All had a great time. Kaitlyn wasn't a big fan of getting so wet, but was a sport about it.

Last but not least we got to Meet Lightning McQueen and Mater. I didn't know that my boy could get star stuck, but man he did. We then visited them again, Matt, Erin and I, while waiting for everyone on Soaring over California and he warmed up alot and enjoyed them.
