Areta S. Blake

My Grandma Blake, Areta S. Blake passed away on October 4, 2004. She has been suffering for a while now. It is hard to see her go yet it is a huge blessing that she was finally able to go. We were so glad that we were able to attend her funeral. She had 42 grandchildren and 126 great grandchildren and she always knew every grandchild and great grandchild by name, and when you had a new baby to add to the family she would tell you what number they would be. What great people she left behind. She was so involved with family history, she loved it!!! what a great example she was to me and my family. She will be missed, but we know we will see her again someday. I can't even imagine the reunion she must of had. I know that my children will always remember going and visiting her and playing with her marble game. It was fun after the funeral to reconnect with so many cousins that I haven't seen for so long! My awesome cousin William rented a mansion for all of us cousins to gather at after. We had a blast being all together again. My kids couldn't get over the castles and slide that were in the basement. I think Brad enjoyed watching the BYU football game in the home theater. I just loved spending time with my cousins that I don't ever get to see.

I thought this picture was priceless. This is my mom and dad at the grave site.

All of my family members that were able to attend.

I have been thinking about your family and it looks like the funeral went well. It's always hard to lose a grandparent. I thought it was especially hard to watch my parents lose their parents.

On a sidenote, I recognized a few of your cousins- how crazy is that? It's been YEARS!
